UltraHLE
by Epsilon and RealityMan
In comparison with real life, the release of UltraHLE launched emulation into the nuclear age. Using 3D acceleration, several work-arounds, and incredibly skilled programming, UltraHLE screams at blazing speeds on high end Pentium II or AMD K6-2 computers. Toted for being taylor made to play the most popular games such as Mario 64 and Zelda 64, UltraHLE functions as both a wonderful programming resource for test running demos and a home Nintendo 64.

After shocking the emulation scene upon its release, UltraHLE was recalled. Some believe that Nintendo silenced the creative team, however, some believe that there is to be a new version on the horizon -- programmed without having the distraction of the media. In the meantime, amateur hacks have been made to allow more games to run and are published regularly in the UltraHLE initialization file series.
