While most arcade emulators emulate multiple games, there are several
that only emulate a single game. Since many arcade game machines run on
similar hardware, this isn't the most efficient way to make an emulator,
however, many multiple arcade machine emulators begin as single game
emulators. Nicola originally programmed several single game emulators
including a Pacman emulator and merged them together creating the very first
MAME! Many of the emulators listed below many have been discontinud due to
merging with MAME. Many are provided for archival, historical, or
perhaps source code use reasons. If you've ever wanted to code a simple
emulator, this might be an invaluable source of information.
