  1. VICE (v0.15.0 / Linux, MS-DOS)
During my search to quence my nostalgia for my old Commodore 64, I had compatility problems and was frusterated by registration fees on all other Commodore 64 emulator. I used CCS64 for a while until I went insane from losing control over everything -- I would hit the 'right' button on my joystick and my game would reset. I tried VICE and not only was emulation great, fast, and accurate, I was also treated to features such as turbo loading that I couldn't have in any other emulator. ¤
  2. Power64 (v2.1.1 / MacOS)
Multi-tasking, fast, and very complete, Power64 is most certainly the best Commodore 64 emulator for the Macintosh. With the ability to launch several Commodore 64 emulations simultaneously, Power64's power superceeds the competition with leaps and bounds.
