  1. ZSNES (v0.635 / MS-DOS)
ZSNES hit the emulation scene hard when its first release seriously challenged SNES 9x's dominating place in the Super Nintendo emulation community. ZSNES quickly gained transparencies, Super FX emulation, DSP emulation, mouse support, Super Scope emulation, SPC sound exporting, and on top of this all, ZSNES is coded in 100% assembly language and naturally runs extremely fast!
  2. SNES 9x (v1.04-v1.06 / 15 OS(s))
Guess who's back? After almost a year of being dormant, SNES 9x is returning to the emulation scene with the MacOS port leading the way. Transparencies, Super FX emulation, DSP chip emulation, increased speed, and increased compatibility are all boasted of features that will place SNES 9x back in the rankings. ZSNES is still considerably faster =)
  3. SNEmul (v0.73 / Linux, v0.84 / MS-DOS)
SNEmul is a newer Super Nintendo emulator that sports an X-Windows like interface and has many interesting features not seen in either SNES 9x or ZSNES. Outputting SPC Sound to MOD files and a built-in sprite editor are some of SNEmul's unique features. SNEmul has support for transparencies and is also compatible with most SNES ROMs.
